Nearly 25,000 Experiencing Electricity in Queensland and Victoria Following Severe Storms
Nearly twenty-five thousand residences in southeastern Queensland found themselves without power on Monday's dawn after severe thunderstorms impacted the area, bringing wind gusts topping 109km/h.
Massive Frozen Precipitation and Broad Damage
Residents reported giant hailstones as large as 7cm in particular locations. Meteorological experts confirmed that multiple regions across the state had been affected by significant hail.

Response teams were attempting to repair energy supply throughout the affected regions, with dozens of response units activated to manage the widespread outages.
Victoria's Climate Difficulties
At the same time, around one thousand energy customers in Victoria also faced energy failures after the capital city recorded its wettest day in a year and a half.
Emergency response teams received 598 emergency reports across the area, primarily for structural issues but also for collapsed vegetation and inundation.

- Wyndham area - over 175 emergency requests
During the peak on yesterday, over 28,000 energy customers in Victoria were experiencing outages.
Climate Outlook
Damp conditions were forecast to persist along much of eastern Queensland this week as a atmospheric system continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.
Tuesday was forecast to be the most rainy day, with persistent thunderstorm potential expected across different parts of both states.
Health Warning
Medical authorities alerted that there was an greater possibility of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the state's northern country region, particularly given the existing atmospheric conditions.
This alert comes after historical occurrences where similar conditions led to significant health impacts in the area.
